As promised, an entry about my journey in Community Service & Cultural Club.
Maybe i will get senile dementia, so it's better to record valuable memories.
The first step
-Enrollment day
Went for enrollment with my mum. ( I'm not a mummy's boy! )
I can still remember asking for the yellow colour lanyard, cos it looks nicer than red.
Only to realise red belongs to School of Business.
Walked through the enrollment rooms alone.
Kind of scary. You know how the seniors always pressure you to join their camps.
Walked through the whole thing. Joined CADC freshmen orientation camp, weekend activity and CSCC freshmen orientation camp.
I like to meet new people, so i thought, why not join the activities put up.
Persuaded zhong jie to join the same activities as me when i went with him to do his enrollment the next day.
That was when we saw bai yu, a senior from our sec school.
Apparently, she can recognise zhong jie.
But both of us can't recognise her.
And so, we went for CSCC FO camp. 4 days 3 nights.
Had this wonderful group called TYPHOON.
Great bunch of people there.
Totally enjoyed my days there as a camper.
Left on the last day of camp for home.
Dumped the dirty clothings, packed the new ones.
Left for school again with zj for CADC FO camp. ( yes, we are mad )
Another 4 days 3 nights.
Was in this group called CONDORS.
Alright. I almost died there. Too tired already.
With less than 4 hours of sleep everday for 7 days. This is crazy
Didn't really enjoy the camp.
However got my first experience as a SHIM there.
First time at St John island too.
Few days later was CADC weekend activity.
Was in this group called CHIPPEWA.
Assembled in school at prolly late afternoon.
Started playing games till next day morning without sleep.
Can't remember much what happened.
So, after attending CSCC FO camp, and i totally enjoyed it, naturally i went for CSCC weekend activity at Sentosa.
Another great event with my group, HEAD HUNTERS. I hope i remembered correctly.
And CSCC had this mass gathering for FO campers after camp.
So i went for the gathering.
And just nice my birthday falls on the same day as the gathering.
I got fishballs, fishcakes and don't know what nots into my pants.
I can't remember who was the guy who poured all the stuff into my pants.
But anyway, since then, i thought CSCC people was very fun.
Started to become more active. Always meeting up with camp mates after school to go club.
Eventually, got into welfare sub committee after the interview.
I remember i was laughing during the interview.
Cos the interviewers were my ' daddy and mummy' in FO camp.
Welfare peeps rock!
Great people.
Organised a few events together.
Volleyball, No-More-Poly, welfare chalet, dinner and dance.
Sushi-making at joycelyn's house.
Marinating of chicken wings at ben's house.
Doing door gifts for D&D at my house.
Got pretty close after those times spent together.
Not forgetting those informal outings in between.
Very active in year 1.
Attended almost every event CSCC had.
The home visits for the aged, christmas party and many more..
Not forgetting camps!
Connection camp.
I can't remember my group name.
And so i digged out the archives and found out i was in GANGSTERS.
I can only remember battle royale and disco night. lols.
LTC camp.
In LEO with trevor, krayon, feli and farhana.
Pretty memorable.
NIGHTWALK. WOHOOO. Walking alone is scary.
Aspiration camp.
Got partnered with rachel from archery to be befrienders.
I can't remember our kid's name.
But we named him 'silent camper'.
Trust me he spoke less than 10 words throughout the camp.
But i learnt a lot. I used to be afraid of people with down syndrome.
But after the camp, learnt a great deal about them.
Infusion camp.
Quite a cool camp.
Somewhat like connection camp.
Very slack.
Got the chance of being a shim again >.<
FO camp was the best.
Damn busy.
Almost in school everyday.
Saturday wasn't spared too.
Worrying about GLs, GPs, games, camp stuff, PROPOSALS, BUDGET, MONEY.
I bet the continuous 8 days 7 nights in school wasn't easy for you too right, daphne?
I missed my family so much that i went home on the last day of prep. lol.
Prep camp was alright.
Generally smooth sailing with loose ends to clear at the end of the day.
The last night of prep was the worst.
Most worried about the next day.
Actual camp was fun actually.
I really enjoyed myself a lot.
After the camp ended, my first thought was- did the campers enjoy themselves?
So that's basically the last event i would be contributing as a organising member.
I will never forget that experience.
I think i am donee. Will edit this again if i remember anything.
